The visionary team responsible for bringing Carolina Cove to life has been involved with some of the earliest efforts in Green Development and Homebuilding.
Team members include Certified Green Professionals, forest managers, wildlife biologists, and members of the National Association of Homebuilders Green Building Program- all founding participants in the green building standards creation process with both the Homebuilders Association of Tennessee and the Johnson City Area Homebuilders Association
Green Building Council. Each home will also be independently certified as having been built in accordance with the National Association of Homebuilders Model Green
Home Building Guidelines, one of the first national green building standards for residences.
T. C. Lewis & Co. Properties is an NAHB Certified Green Building Organization. We continue to set the standard in the building industry, while leading the way of new age
building and developing where responsibility and innovation come together to create beautiful homes, communities, and commercial space
that have the least impact on
the environment as possible- traditional neighborhoods with modern amenities and engineering. The look of the homes, communities, and commercial buildings really
stays true to the architectural plans, and we can make any plan green, because it’s the engineering and the infrastructure of the site and the structure that truly makes
something green. The cost is not significantly more to go green- it’s the construction methods from an NAHB Certified Green Builder. And, we encourage all of our
custom home clients to consider the idea. Even if you’re not someone who is on the frontlines of the fight against global warming, you can certainly see
cost-effective and healthy advantages to building green when your home is a healthier environment less susceptible to allergies, utility bills greatly
decline, and the home still maintains the integrity of its look and style. T. C. Lewis & Co. Properties 10-Step to Custom Construction Process applies to both traditional projects and green-built projects.
“There are a lot of folks who are out there saying that they’re building green, but it’s really important that you see if the contractor is certified, and if the community or home
has any designations or certifications by green building organizations. Otherwise, you’re probably playing into the hype created by someone who
isn’t really
knowledgeable in the field. And, he/she is probably guilty of what we call ‘rubbing on the green’ as a sales tactic.”
